Your Social Media Etiquette

When it comes to your pharmacy’s social media presence, authenticity is what your followers want to see. Are you marketing your pharmacy’s products and services regularly? If not, how will your community know what you offer and what you can do for them?

To be successful, it’s important to keep up with the essentials. So, when patients visit your social media pages, there should be no question what your pharmacy is like. Let your followers know that you’re here to help them.

Stay current with technology by having a presence on numerous social media pages. If you only have a Facebook page, it’s time to try other platforms, as well. Instagram and TikTok should become your pharmacy mainstays. The more you stay involved on social media, the more likely people will hear about your pharmacy and become new customers.

Each social media platform has a different set of rules.  Instagram is photo-based; and TikTok is video-based. Facebook is an assortment of the two. To do it right, you’ll need to post something every day.

How and What to Post:

  • Introduce your pharmacy. Let your followers know who you are and what your pharmacy can provide them.
  • Explain the services you offer in a video. This will catch their attention significantly more than just a photo. Additionally, introduce each service separately and in different videos on different days.
  • Don’t go over the top with humor. A little goes a long way. Your patients want to know that you’re serious about their health.
  • Always be positive in your posts, not negative. Some patients dread picking up or dropping off prescriptions. Therefore, don’t make it worse with negativity.
  • Introduce your staff. Post a short video or a photo introducing a different staff member each week.

Consistency is important. You won’t get results if you don’t consistently do the work. How you present your pharmacy will make or break your success. Cultivate a strong, thriving presence on social media and be that trusted pillar of the community. Let them hear your voice, and everyone will know what your pharmacy is all about.
